Originally the Mini oil pick-up pipe was in the right hand edge of the gearbox casing but as you drive around bends the oil is not always drawn in sufficiently starving the engine of oil.

Using a central oil pick-up with every transmission rebuild has been proven to enhance the life of the oil pump and engine bearings. This is a unique designed part used by all top engine builders.
